Enid Scratch, spunky 96-year-old mother of Darlene Cunningham, co-founder of Youth With A Mission (YWAM), is loved the world over. Africans in Nairobi first dubbed her "Mama Dar" and since then YWAMers on six continents have loved this encouraging saint with a heart of gold. They marvel at her adventurous spirit since becoming a widow nearly two decades ago.
Married to pastor Ed Scratch for 58 years, she ministered with him until he died in 1991. She thought her life was over and her service in the Kingdom finished. Little did Enid know all that God had in store for her!
As she stepped out in obedience to staff YWAM schools in remote corners of the world, God cared and provided for "Mama Dar". She relied on His strength daily as she shared the love and grace, mercy and forgiveness God had first shown her.
Travel with her across thousands of miles and hundreds of memories, including Loren and Darlene's courtship, engagement and wedding - all are delightful!
